Has anyone ever tried to see if a camed 1jz will spool a t88 33d? If not I'll going to give it a whirl.

Yeaaaaaahhhhhhhh

The T88 has many versions. Yours is what A/R?

With the greddy t78 and 272 cams you can hit close to 1000hp at around 35psi. I see almost no lag. Mainly because I always keep the rpm above 4500.
Sorry but you are full of crap. See sig with BIG cams, major head work, @ 32PSI on a T88. I will get a little more once the clutch doesn't slip but it still isn't 1000 RWHP and it is bigger than the T78..Get what I am saying?

It's 1.5JZ with a T78. It put down 700hp at only 6000rpm, 25psi, 13 degrees timing so far. We ran out of fuel. It will be dynoing again next week and we expect close to 1000hp. I will keep you posted.
I don't care if it is a 1.5J, it will NOT in a gazillion years make 1000HP with a T78 on it. Even crank hp it will not happen and that is being nice.

T78 is a 67mm turbo.

Mate with GT35 .8 a/r has made 480rwhp or 360rwkw on a dyno dynamics dyno at 27psi with no nitrous.

Will be a hell of a lot less laggy than a T78.

FYI the dyno numbers spoken of are not comparable to most Australian dynos. That is why 1/4 mile trap speeds are better to compare with (in similar weight cars).

For an all round turbo, garrett gt3076R is a ripper. 25psi at 3800rpm, will make 300rwkw (aus dyno) on stock engine with stock cams at 24-25psi.

oh ok
yea well something like that sounds good

main reason i was looking at the t78 was because i wanted to buy the turbo as a complete kit
so i had the choice of
TD-06S 20G-12.0cm2
TD-07S 25G-14.0cm2
T78 33D-17.0cm

which one of these chris do u recon would do what i want the best ?

or/and do u kno of anywhere that sells whole kits ??

I ran a HKS T51 ( Big MOFO) on stock cams and that fat bitch would not even spool in 1st gear............... it would however spool at 5000 in 2nd and check the fuck out. :)

Now I am on a 77mm precision and much happier.

and I will kiss the man ass that knocks out 1000hp on a 1jz with a t78 with out N2O

Are you still on a 1JZ bottom end? What kind of power are you making with the 77, how is spool. I'm not so much worried about spool as I'm auto and I can just match a stall to be close, but would like an idea. I'm really contemplating doing the 2J block swap and a 76.

when it happens i'll believe you, i've seen alot of people talk up this turbo...:)

he put down like 450rwhp...maybe a little more, but his running fuck all management on his so he has the potential for a little more.

This is 25psi, 1 walbro, 13 degrees timing, 6300rpm. I am going back this weekend with the new fuel system. 35psi, 15 degrees timing, and full rpm. What do you think it will hit??

See on the scan the a/f ratio starts to rise at around the 500hp mark.
Damn 1 walbro.

If we could have gone to 8000rpm I bet it would of hit close to 800hp. But because of a/f we had to back off at 6300.

Yeah but the 1.5jz that hams bulit has higher compression if i recall, and you have hks cams and a slew of other goodies... I don't believe you'll see 1000 on a 78... if you think you can you are on crack the turbo can't even flow that much air.

Just think of what is taking a 2jz FULL 2jz to hit 1000... GT47's minimum... Nitrous is a diffrent beast. BTW 6k is your peak winnipegman so I don't expect you to hit much more power maybe 40-60 at best with 30 psi

i guess we'll see what you get though....

Post up your results.

At 6300 the hp curve is still rising. 6000 is the peak??? Only for torque. Remember we let off the pedal at 6300 because the fuel pressure was dropping. With the 272's the hp should/will peak around 7300-7500rpm.
I will be back on here this weekend with a dyno graph over 800hp on a T78. Yall see! lol
