Does anybody have advance design coilovers by Ground Control. I saw an acticle in Sports compact car where they were used on athe 300zxtt project car. If someone has them I'd like to know how they ride.

I looked at these. They have independantly ajustable bound and rebound knobs, and use Eibach race springs in any spring rate you want. They probably ride however you want them to. If your looking for a nice riding car you can probably find a much cheaper solution.
What would you suggest?
It wouldn't surprise me if the GC coilovers were the best on the market. Considering you have easy access to different spring rates. Even better if they are separately adjustable compression and rebound. And I would assume they are also rebuildable. They probably cost $$$$$$.

You could run a GC spring/perch combo on a Koni or a KYB.

I did alot of research before selecting Tein, and GC/Advanced Designs was high on the list.... for a day.

After speaking with many, Chris Rado's story is what turned me off. He had two GC/AD shocks fail completely. Both happened on the car's first drag launch on the respective shocks. All of the air leaked out and the car almost crashed as a result.

For a three way coilover system, the Ground Controls are dirt cheap. For a real three way, I'd suggest the Koni system which will set you back ~5K.

Go with Teins... it's proven.
Tein RS coilovers are 16-way bound and rebound ajustable, you might want to look at those. I don't know how much they are though. The GC AD shocks are $400 a piece.

Dennis, you haven't heard of any other (road race) failures have you? I think Jeff Hood and Eric Typpo both road race on these shocks w/o problems. Not sure on that though.

I've been trying to look in to which coilover system to buy when I have the money. Eneryone seems to go with Teins because they are cheaper than HKS.
