after i passed state inspection and have my collector inspection sticker i have been told if i get stoped by police i can still be ticketed for tint ,no front plate,no cats, load exhaust, etc. what is the facts on the colletor cars following the normal laws? tp pass the inspection i taped on my front plate and peeled my tint on the fronts, everything else was excempt. i even had on my 28" slicks and passed easy. too many people have told me cops still write every ticket possible .. i searched dmv, internet and cant find all the statues on the truth on what i can get nailed for.?

all cops are different. at a car show i got a ticket for overdue inspection, while 2 cars drag race off from the stop light, right next to us. i said shouldn't you go after them instead of my 1 month overdue inspection. the dick says i don't think you need to worry about that!! WHAT A DICK!!

so its all in who pulls you over

Yes you can get busted for such things as tint, front plates etc. In most states, collector plates just mean you don't have to get inspected or take emissions testing ever again. You still have to abide by your state laws regarding front plates, tint, yellow headlights, etc.

If they wanted to be rude, they could have taken your mileage down and then check again in a year to see if you've gone beyond the maximum allowed for collector vehicles.

Collector plates are not an immunity to state vehicle codes.
