Hey, there are a couple threads talking about running Link ECUs but they’re really old and a lot has changed since then. Does anyone on here run the G4X SupraLink ECU on their mk4? I am really leaning towards getting one but just wanted to check if anyone could give me some insight to what they think of it before making my decision. Maybe some thoughts on what they like or dislike, etc.

I have an upcoming tune for my link g4x plug in ecu in december so cant give you a review quite yet. I went with this at the recommendation of the tuner instead of the ones you have to wire up like the storm, fury, xtreme. etc.

Yeah it’s really nice they have one already pinned up to connect to the Supra harness!

Link ECU is super popular in the UK, probably half the ECU install's I do into Supra's use the SupraLink G4X these days.
I used to run one on my own Supra for about 4 years when I used to daily it. Overall I have no major complaints with the platform, it covers all the features I would need for most road going or club level race cars and can deliver it reliabily and smoothly. I must have around 100+ customers out there on Link and have been tuning Link for 8 years or so now, never had any issues with hardware reliability.

The logging on the ECU is really nice, probably one of my favourites to use. I wont compared every feature with every other ECU as that will take hours of writing, but in my opinion everything that is offered on the Link can compete with and sometime excel beyond their competition, so unless you have something really crazy that needs doing then Link will cover you. Like any standalone ECU, its only ever going to be as good as the guy calibrating it, so just make sure your tuner has good experience on the platform.

I've contemplated LINK as well, if its good enough for the UK and nearly every pro drifter, its good enough for my street car. That being said, I don't know of any tuners around the PNW that can help me so, I'm leaning towards Haltech.

Thanks for the insight! It’s interesting how popular these are outside the US and I’m hoping they start to catch on more here. They kind of have a nice spot in the market in regards for the value they offer.

Exactly, my biggest hold up is finding a competent tuner nearby who is familiar with their software.

UP Garage in Tacoma specializes in the Link system, its what they use to tune all their GTRs. I was there when they tuned a MKIV for a customer with it as well. They don't specialize in MKIVs but they have the experience to get the job done right.

Ive been running Link g4+ supralink since 2018. From stock twins parallel to my current single turbo 730rwhp E85/flex build

Runs pretty flawless like a stock car... its an older ecu now but Link always updates the software. Never had an issue

I have all the race features on as well.. Anti-lag, boost by gear, flat shift(awesome), launch control etc.

Also have it hooked up to a BTI 3.5 screen where i can track everything.

At the end of the day, its all on your tuner... and how familiar they are with the ECU.

Other then that.... at the $1200 i paid for it(dunno if price went up) id say its a steal and a great ecu for how much it cost.

If your willing to drive further up north to B.C., the shop i take my supra too works on tons of MKIVs... including 2 1000rwhp+ supras owned by the shop owners. They tune Link on supras all the time

I ended up going with the G4X FuryX with a full harness/sensor package and dash from Mark & Mattt @ panic, conveniently the Linkecu vice president of north/south America is Jason Oefelein located in Portland, OR as well who appears more than capable of tuning my street car.
