Run more boost with less risk of detonation. You'd need cam gears for this, but here's a lil calculator to help with the theory...

Basically, the later your intake valve closes, the less pressure that you build up with the piston compression. This allows you to run more boost with less risk of detonation. We'd need to have our intake cams degreed for this to work, but I'm sure someone here has a set of NA cams that knows how to degree a camshaft, or someone has access to those numbers.... :p

Fuck, Again with this 1/2 bullshit. i have never seen any other 1/2 crap on anyother NA-T car forum except this one, go Figure.

Big deal, let him post what he wants. A few people have done this succesfully. It's a free country. I'm thinking of a similar setup on my 5M.

The 1/2 refers to taking a NA motor and putting a turbo on it-- half turbo and half NA. There are obvious risks with this, and it takes more intelligence to do this then it does to put a buncha turbo parts together, like matching fuel system components with increased air flow, maintaining proper air/fuel ratios, and eliminating the one thing feared by the turbo tuner, detonation.

I think doing this on a 5m would yeild a better power curve then the 7m, with the shorter stoke. probably be more dependable and able to handle higher revs/ boost. Open a thread when you start this project, should be good readin.

porn-adkt.. i've already explained the meaning behind the "1/2"... and no.. its not "half turbo and half NA"

I dubbed the term as a JOKE! HAHAHA, you know... joke...

Cause when i first started doing the 1/2na-t, everyone said i was half assing ( 1/2 assing) it and i should swap the electronics... well... theres your explanation...

HALF ASSED NA-T = 1/2na-t

derrrrrr.....
