Has any one used a auto diff , with a 6 speed single at about 700 bhp on the drag strip . and is so would it be quick , or would it be better for me just to change it to the 6 speed diff.
type in the v160 gears in there and use 3.7 for the final drive, I dont feel like doing it for u but I know it would be really short,possibly go thru all 6 gears before the end of the 1/4.
I believe with 700hp and an auto diff ratio, you may go thru gear 1 to end of 5th in just over the 1/4 mile, its too short if you want to make anything more than 700 hp
I don't recommend the auto diff, mainly because its not as strong as the 6 speed diff:
220mm ring gear, 12 bolt case vs 200mm ring gear 10 bolt case.
yes that is what I think , but it is a lsd same as the 6 speed ,just the ring gear diffrent, so it should be as strong. I was just thinking that if anyone has done this, and if so was it any good , and if so I would leave it in for my first drag meet.
the cheapest alternative is to buy a GS400 SC430 LS430 3.26 diff and either and mate the LSD from the auto to change gearing to something more preferable for alot less $$$ involved. The 3.26 geared carriers can be bought all day in the US for $200 and up.
