Too much money even if you are willing to do it yourself, and you'll never recoup that investment. I owned a beautiful low mile 97 TT auto which I ended up selling to buy a 6 spd. Best damn decision I made. Now I've got the right platform for my build.

Good luck whichever route you choose to go.

Considering that Supras might be a rare find where you are from, I'd convert it to a 6-speed instead of trying to find a 6-speed.

But if you find a suitable 6-speed Supra in your area, it is usually cheaper to simply buy a 6-spd car and sell your TT automatic as is.

Auto for me.

High stall and you have no boost lag, no boost lost between gears, and an Auto will put a higher HP 6spd to shame.

Manual if you like to bang gears <--- only reason you should get a manual, not to impress everyone else.

Funny thing is my other cars and previous ones have been manuals, MBenz C320, BMW 330ci, Lexus IS300, FD Rx7, in the end I feel a high HP auto is the way to go for me.

It all depends on you and what kinda car you want to build and own... what you will use it for...

If you want a manual, get one. As for whether or not to sell or convert, try advertising yours and see what kind of offers you get. Selling is always a pain, but if the right offer comes along... Likewise with buying. Keep an eye out for what you're looking for and see what's available. The conversion is probably going to be a set cost, so decide after you know what your options are. Worse case scenario, you keep it as is for a couple months until you decide. A much better option than rushing into something you'll regret later and wasted money on.

You will recoup at least half the cost if not a little more. Six speeds always sell for more.

swap is too expensive and too much work if you don't cut corners and do it clean

transmission w/ flywheel, clutch, fork, slave cylinder, shifter
driveshaft w/ donut
differential
possibly axles
transmission tunnel
shifter boots
pedals
master cylinder
line(s)
gauge cluster
misc nuts and bolts

5k minimum and that's a super low ball estimate.

i honestly thing 6spd car's have a sound that the auto has a hard time to replicate.
The 6-speed seems to be VERY fun. but i agree a stalled up single turbo supra is a GREAT time.
