It may be a bad rad cap?

BUT still check for BHG number 6 cylinder (notorious!!!)

I had a OEM head gasket blow a pinhole back in the day.
I just arrived at a party on the other side of the city and I couldn't have a good time knowing that it was a new head gasket with complete engine work.

my last hg went on 6 peelin outa my gfs drive way before last winter.... and no theres no indication its a bhg just the fluid dropping and steaming... but 6 gets loads of oil around the plug... im guessing its that stupid thing you gotta take out with the allen wrench that i can never find.

i had a alltrac do this to me
i would drive 40 miles to work with no problems
when i arrived my overflow tank would pour and drain a bunch of coolant
come to find out the guy i got it from did a new headgasket but the head was warped around cylinder #3 and was pressurizing my cooling system

Do you understand why the overflow is there?

Heat + coolant = expanded coolant.

Your cooling system is a closed system, with the radiator cap as the pressure regulator. When the coolant expands, it will take the path of least resistance out of the system (normally through the cap to the overflow bottle).

Unplug the line, bleed your cooling system of air, test for combustion gases in the coolant, and see if the problem returns.
