About 5 days ago the Battery light and brake light started to come on even when the brake was all the way down. The lights would sometimes turn off while driving. Last night I got stuck after eating dinner and got a jump start and it jumped just fine. About 1 mile down the road my car just turned off in the middle of the street. Luckily a AAA truck passed by about 2 min later and gave me a jump. I had to rev the car alot to keep the car from turning off the rest of the way home and none of my lights worked. I purchased the battery less then 7 months ago and it never gave me a problem before.

So this morning I took a brand new battery out of my camry that im not using and installed it in my supra. It started fine and everything but it still has the battery light and brake light on.

Alternator is dead... fix it ASAP before you get stranded again.

The batt, break lights are toyotas somewhat enigmatic way of saying check the electrical system.

How much does it usually cost to replace a alternator?

Go to your local auto electronics repair shop if you have such a thing.... and have the thing rebuilt instead of buying one from lets say Napa or Kragen.... it will last a whole lot longer and cost less money.
