Hi guys

I know there are some trades when having a high powered supra, the thing is that we are now at 2011 and there`s got to be some better options for our 1000 whps street supras..

I have had blown, stock, titan big boy, titan carbon big boy redesigned Ds at the Drags... and now have a driveshaftshop Molyversion that vibrates like hell after 80mphs no matter what I do, it will vibrate in the supra 6mt targa top.

I want to keep the Moly one if I go to the track someday, but keep something smooth for the street that could hold 1000 whp pulls,

The carbon one was ok, but isn`t there a two piece moly one one that will keep the stock rear rubber mount and hold the abuse? the two piece plus the rear rubber flange will keep nhv quite down...

Ideas?

thanks

We have 1 piece driveshafts that retain the factory doughnut. Good for 1200 and guaranteed never to vibrate at any speed.

Yup. The problem isn't the driveshaft, its the metal doughnut that is used. Go back to a factory rubber doughnut and you will be happy. I have the exact driveshaft you have and I know it will vibrate but can't live without its strength.

Thanks for the feedback!! now I saw on ebay that you offer a one piece and a two piece, what would be better? or why did you make them one piece and the other two piece? if the one piece wont vibrate at all should be the one to get, it seems to look lighter then the two piece... but a two piece seem unbeateable vibration wise? please recomend, also whats your website?

One piece is better all around. We only offer the 2 piece because of some people's insistance. Neither one of ours vibrate. I would go 1 piece all the way. Tubing has recently been increased to 3.5" for extra torque capacity. Even on the 3" tubing they were good to 1200hp. We don't have a website right now, but feel free to call or PM.

I am not at your HP level. But I have been looking into a 1 piece alum drive shaft to lose some weight in my MKIV TT and add some strength.

This local shop to CA has been getting good reviews.

I can not speak of their parts as I do not run them yet. I have talked with others on this forum that speak well of this place though.

I am not saying one is better than the other I am just posting what I am starting to look into if it may help you at all in your search.

Hey Snap, could you pm me a price for a one piece DS for my 95 tt manual. I am doing the 6spd swap and with used 6spd driveshafts selling for 400, I would like to see what else is out there that may be an upgrade. Thank you

I have the Driveshaft Shop 1 pc driveshaft and I didn't have any vibration problems.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Tommy Banh used the same driveshaft on his TX Mile Supra and Big Red (Both cars going over 200mph with no vibration).

I have the Dynosaur performance 1 piece that retains the factory rubber coupler and I have zero complaints. I had a 1 piece before from another shop which used a billet adapter and i did everything I could to that thing and it still vibrated at freeway speeds.

I just ordered the dynosaur and let you guys know, I have tested tms carbon I carbon II, no vibrations but they were not good at the drag strip, blowed both of them and had to waste 3000 USD!!! the dss moly is horrible on the freeway and it gets rusted over the time, and their warranty process is not so good...

I have the boost logic modified one and hands down I think its the best. Im over 1000whp and its same kind SW had in his black 7 sec 6speed supra.

edit: I dont know if they make them anymore but I would high recommend getting one if they do.

I have the SP one-piece driveshaft with the billet adapter that replaces the rubber donut. It is absolutely smooth as silk all the way up to 160MPH (fastest I've gone with it so far). I have experienced absolutely ZERO vibration; in fact, the only minute change I've noticed is a positive one -- it removed some of the slop associated with the OEM 2-piece and carrier bearing setup. I added it at the same time as the TRD diff and Titan billet ear mounts and it's been absolutely perfect. You should not experience ANY vibration issues with our without the rubber donut in place. Putting the donut back in to mask vibration issues is just a band-aid, IMO. If it vibrates, it needs to be balanced or otherwise corrected.

Bumping this thread.

I'd like more opinion on this as I'm getting ready to purchase one. People actually making the 1k mark or close to it. Also not using the factory rubber donut..thanks
