well i have a 240sx with a jdm 2jzgte swap.
to4r (.96ar)+ supporting mods
now i will now have an aem ems (higher revs, i had a problem with 6200rpms being the max)
27inch slicks
r154

now my question what gear ratio will be better with my setup?

3.90:1
3.69:1
3.54:1

also what will be the max rpm i could safely run 7500?

thanks in advance

Best gear ratio for just drag racing? Or for street and drag? My honest opinion would be to type in your gear ratios and tire size in this calculator http://www.f-body.org/gears/ and see where your car fits in the range. IMO i would want my 4th gear to be the last gear i need to shift into to pass the traps. But of course its upto you power, weight and what you plan on doing with the car.

I had a 3:54 in my car and it was a bit too tall for my power level (around 450-500 whp) I swapped out to a 3:90 from a j30 and I feel the car is quicker. 3.90 at 7500 rpms with 27" tires should put you around 139-140 mph...With the 3.54 it was over 150. so I would say if your over 750 whp then the 3.54 is worth it.

WIth my setup and 750whp goal I plan on running 3.55 gears with 26" drag radials and on tge street 27.5" street tires.

S132jz: I think the 3.69 gears would be perfect. being a 5 speed u can even go higher. 3.69-3.9 should be fine

Hey man I also have a 2jz 240sx with a q45 3.54 setup. You will regret the amount of work involved with using the tt 300zx 3.69 gear. I've been there done that and it's not worth it imo! You can just use the q45 setup, and change your tire size to a 26" tire.
