Best way to kill a slushbox!

Most people would gently drive their car when their automatic started slippin. But not me. A buddy and I went out to a dead-end empty road. It has fairly long straight aways, but with corners inbetween. I couldn't get over 150 before I had to get relatively hard on the brakes for the next corner. The car felt like it had a lot less pep tonight and after looking at the pictures I think I know why. Anyway, don't try this at home blah blah blah

I did quite a few runs, but the car was much much slower than last night. After about the 3rd pass, a couple of guys who were in the dunes moved their pickup to the side of the road and started giving me the thumbs up each time I whizzed by. Or perhaps it was the finger because when I was just about done idling down at the end of the road -- checking to see if any of the pictures came out -- up rolls a sherrif.

He asked a few questions I didn't really want to honestly answer -- then ran my license and plates before driving away. I of course had to snap a picture as he drove off, but it came out shitty cause the flash glared on the windsheild

Hence why you should of started off with a STICK SHIFT heheheh... aight peace

jeff why did you start the thread and then lock it and then reopen it? lol crazy bastid! :D

Cause I wasn't done posting pics ;)


And I'm hoping to make this transmission explode or do something worthwhile when it goes. I dunno, maybe I'm sick but I like to see things totally fail

Ideas to kill the tranny -- I was going to just do a really, really, really long burnout on brad's old tires/wheels, but I don't want to kill the diff yet.

Ron thinks I should disconnect the transmission cooler

I'm thinking maybe I see how brake fluid works as a transmission fluid

Mike thinks sawdust ought to help keep the torque converter from unlocking...



BTW mike, I finally got past your "oar" gauge needles and noticed your crazy ass wasn't wearing a seatbelt

Get going at 100 and throw it in to reverse ... that should kill it.


Reminds me of one of my (yes i know stupid) high speed tests.

Going down Pecos Rd at ~145 and a cop passes going the other way with his lights on, flips a bitch and starts coming after us, take a turn at ~90 and turn the lights off, cop goes flying by staying on the same road.

Yeah at least i didn't steal the needle from twister to use on my speedo and the one from Operation for my tach!!! Those needles are some old 70's leftovers.

sweet pics! i'd know... its hard as hell trying to snap a pic at 120mph! :p maybe it was cause i had a blown suspension though! :rolleyes:

Reverse for a bit then slam into 1st and smoke tires. See where that gets ya. What all is done for mods? MHG? Anything?
