okay guys, i posted a while ago about the canadian mkiii i picked up. Im supposed to get the car when the headgasket is fixed with a nks metal gasket.( the guy is taking his time) Anyway, i called him today and he said he got the turbo and everything off so he could see the left side of the block, with a BHG, should water be leaking out of the block where it meets the head? Or is this a more serious problem?

really unlikely, would have to be a VERY serious blow to come all the way out the side of the head/block. Plus, if the engine isn't even running, it shouldn't just come out anyway.. Why are you asking? is that what he said happened?

Oh it can happen :)

Just ask a certain member of the forums, who shall remain nameless to protect his dignity :)

He had coolant coming out of that side when his HG blew. It was from prepping the head for a MHG, but not the block and then slapping at all together. It could happen, but someone should have known this was the case before you purchased it at least.

Also, how can he see it coming out if the car isn't even running? How long has it been since it has been running?
