And it starts cutting out at about 3000rpm. This is a new project that I picked up: a 1988 turbo manual and I am just getting started. Put on new plug wires and plug without a change in running. No codes. I think my next course of action will be a mass air flow sensor.

What's your idea? Thanks, Michael.

check your plugs to see if it's running rich

lol no need to check the plugs that babys pig rich! black smoke is good smoke compared to the blue or white. time for some diagnostics. im guessing the MIL isnt on ?

:werd: that thing is runnin rich as hell, its not cutting out, its bogging cuzz too much fuel :bigthumb:

MIL is a new one to me. What is your idea that might be wrong?

Prolly one of the intercooler pipes isnt even attached. Thats my guess. Just start by checkin over all the i/c pipes.
