what are the signs of a blown turbo and can you drive on one, and if so what are the WORST things that can happen if you do ?

If you keep driving it the car will turn into a pristine showroom quality car worth millions.

You'll notice smoke out of the exhaust in worst cases. Take the accordian hose off and feel for shaft play. Move it up and down and in and out. If you feel any movement then your bearings are starting to wear. If it rubs the housing then ou might as well replace it and hope no metal contaminated your engine.

Pull off your intake and check if you have any shaft play.

Try to wobble the compressor up, down, side to side, and in & out. Also, check the condition of the fins.

Unbolt your elbow and see if there is any oil in there.

you never state the problem that you're having. Knowing when a turbo is out is to general of a question and can lead to many answers. But I see you mention something about oil in exhaust.......check valve covers, oil returned line and your cam positioning sensor.....

good luck
