hi im running a blitz sbc-id boost controller and it doesnt seem to let me control how much boost i can adjust it to. if i pinch off the 2 vacuum line coming off the wastegate it alllows me to run as much boost as the turbo puts out. the ? i have is is my problem in my boost controller or is it in my wastegate? the controller works for everything else tells me my psi lets me change it on the screen just doesnt let me change my boost. its really bugging me bc ive been chasing this problem and have been throwing parts at this thing and dont want to waste more money changing the wrong part yet again. any help and advice would be awesome. thanks in advance.

When I had my SBC-iD it worked great. One time when one of my vacuum caps fell off it did what you are reporting so I would check that...specifically, see the caps #1 and 2 in this picture and make sure they are on and tight. If you try it and it works, post back so we have a confirmation...thanks

i dont have anything on mine that looks like that. i talked to the people that sold it to me and they told me a few things to try. i havent had a chance to test it out yet gonna do it later. they also told me it could be a setting i have the controller on so i changed that and i hope one of these things work bc im tired of just throwing parts at it.

What is your boost setting set to in the Blitz SBC ID ?? Go to the main Menu screen and click "Boost"

So no matter what "Set" is set to, the boost (psi) level does not change?

Boost screen will look like this below:

Boost

Channel CH1 (could be diff channel depending what number you set everything up)
Auto/Manu Auto
Set xx <--- what is this number ??? This is where you set the boost
Gain xx
Graph 1.0

Further to what Northstar said, that number you input does not directly corrilate to the boost setting. For example, if you dial in 12 there, that doesn't represent 12 psi of boost. Its 12%. You might have to dial it up to 30 before you start to see any increase in boost.

The pic shows one of the stock VSV actuators on front of the engine sort of near/behind the alternator. If those actuators are all removed, then my suggestion doesn't apply.

Auto setting doesn't work very well. Its been a while but I think Gain controls your boost spikes on transition between the two turbo's. SET is where you want to start adjusting for boost. Right now you should be running on wastegate pressure so you are probably only seeing around the 7-8 psi of boost. Am I right?

yes u r right the most i just saw was 10.4. no matter what i set any of those settings to nothing changes it. i played with the set feature and went all the way to 100 and it only boosted around 8psi on the reg. this shit is driving me nuts. ok whats next. lol

i called and talked to boost logic this morning. they r the ones that told me to try what im trying. they also told me to unplug the top vacuum line on the wastegate so it just runs off of the wastegate spring. i just did that and only seeing 7psi so im assuming thats the spring thats in it. ive pinched off both lines coming off the wastegate and ran off just turbo and im getting 27psi so i no its not the turbo. im now thinking it is in my boost controller or ive got something else set wrong in the thing.

the only setting on the controller is either ac/wg and i got it set to wg. i changed out my turbo and it was working fine b4 that. i hooked it all up the same way and nothing changes. is there a way i can test the solinoids?

yea ive got them hooked up the same way i did b4 and the way the manual says to well the way the pic says to the rest of the manual is all in japanese. i dont no if this helps but with the key on both the solinoids have power on them and its all wires on there have power if that means anything to u.

i just double checked the lines and they r right. i think im gonna get a manual boost controller off ebay one of the cheap ones just to test it. if that fixes it i will replace it with a good one. im just tired of throwing parts at this thing to find the problem and ive narrowed it down to either this controller or the wastegate and i dont think its the wastegate.

Since you are single and so am I here is my setup.

Channel - CH1
Auto/Manu - Manu
Set - 38 (this is 17.9 lbs on my setup)
Gain - 100 - (this is how fast the boost comes..can cause boost spikes, but i have anit surge housing)
Graph - 30

Other Menu stuff

Scramble - OFF
Auto Peak - Off
AC/WG - WG

Here is the manual in English for the SBC ID II

http://www.sr20tuning.com/Blitz_SBC_i-D_manual.pdf

If all else fails.. you could have a bad Solenoid --- no real way to test it unless you got another spare or hook up another boost controller.

One other thing to look at... is Check your Warning menu - What is your Limiter set to ?

If it is setup and its to low it will prevent you from boosting at your desired boost..
