While driving on the highway today, I noticed while in 5th gear, I floored the car and noticed my defi boost gauge read 18psi. I have a blitz boost controller and its setting is set at 15psi daily driving. What can cause the boost gauge to read higher/or the boost to go up?

Thanks

I am not certain but i know i had myine set around 15psi this wnter but since the air was so cold it was skiking around 18 so i turned it down. I think if i am not wrong when its colder their air is thicker so it can cause for higher boost even though its set lower. I could be wrong but my friends were telling me about this the other day since i am not adjusting it because it is getting alot warmer out.

its the load that 5th gear puts on the engine. more load = more boost.

so is this ok? I was told running setting the car to 18 psi on BPU is not good because of detonation (unless your on 100 octane/racing gas).
