venting
You can either vent into the atmosphere or back into the intake I believe. Anyone...is that right?

I wonder if anyone has actually done a test side by side to a aftermarket to a GOOD stock BOV...I am also still running the stock BOV and I am not sure if a modified one would help me hold boost more or not. My car hold 20psi now on the street...but on the dyno it peaks 20 but falls off very quickly to 17psi by 6500rpm.WinglessTurbo said:Yes. The stock one "vents" back into the engine but almost all aftermarket ones vent to atmosphere (meaning just out). Allot of people without a VPC will run both b/c without the air coming back into the engine from the recyclic BOV, the engine thinks something is wrong and may stall. Personally, I have been running the HKS SSBOV for months now w/o the stock one and have absolutely no problems. Hope this helps.
Yea this is because after the air goes throught the mass air flow sensor, it is supost to come out the exaust (with the motor inbetween). If the O2 sensor readings dont agree with the MAFS readings the computer will think somthing is broken.WinglessTurbo said:Yes. I don't think it'll give you any more hp. I upgraded mine because my 8 year-old stock one was leaking oil back into the motor causing massive clouds of nasty smelling blue smoke to follow me around--not quite the image I wanted with my Supra, and none too good for the car. Apparently, the stock ones are not exteremely well made and after a while will just stop doing it's job. And the HKS sounds sweet!! :bthumb:TT_6SPD_95 said:

This is not because of a bad stock BOV its because the stock turbos will always drop boost by redline.TT_6SPD_95 said:
