no, at least not that i know of, but its also not necessary for bpu levels. if you vent to atmosphere without having a way for the car to compensate for the loss of metered air, the car will run rich on shifts and might not idle very well (ie- it may stall out). i guess if it runs so rich on the shifts it could slow it down a little bit, but i really dont think it would be that much, if any.
