Im assuming the larger hose coming out of the brake booster that curls behind and then connects to the intake manifold is the vacuum source for the brake booster?

I was curious as to what the brass connector in between the 2 hose pieces thats mounted on the firewall is?

my wtf question is why did toyota curl that hose? would it not have been easier to just have made it a straight shoot?

hmmm i have never taken a good look at it. Could it possibly be a check valve:dunno:

The engine will torque 1 way depending if your going forward or reverse. If this was a stright line, it would eventually rip out, and you would have no brakes.

With the loop, it prevents this from happening.

ohhhhh well that definitely makes sense and is a very good idea lol.

Do you know what the brass colored piece is mounted to the firewall? is it just a splice so the loop has a point to flex?
