Hello,

Apparently my brake lights are not working (according to the CHP officer who pulled me over).

Here are the symptoms:

1. Headlights and Taillights work
2. The 3rd brake light works
3. Bulbs are not burnt out
4. I replaced the switch that turns on and off your brake lights when you depress the brake pedal. Did not help.
5. Haven't checked the fuses

What do you guys think it could be?

Thanks

i'm gonna say it's your lamop failure sensor located under the paneling in the drivers side rear trunk space. if your LFS light is on in the dash, then those are the exact symptoms. third brake light works, others don't but only becuase they are not recieving a signal, not because of the bulbs. Toyota wants over $150 for a new LFS box. But i think there is a writeup on MKIV.com to try first. Involves a little soldering. I was about to do it on my last car, but got a new one. good luck.

I agree. Same symptoms.
The same happened to me just without being pulled over.
You have to take the LFS out, open it up, and hit each solder point again and maybe adding some more solder. I had to solder it at least 3 times before it worked properly.
If it doesn't work then find another Supra owner and plug his or her LFS in place of yours and see if it works.
