Brakes....

Are there really no differences between the TT brakes and the N/A brakes? Just search and found an old thread that said that... if that's true.. why do they seperate the brake category?

Im no mk4 guy but im pretty sure NA brakes are 1 " smaller than TT brakes... calipers are probably different too. Anyways mk4 section is the place to ask next time.

They are certainly different. The TT brakes are not only larger (12.6 inch rotors in front), but I believe they may have more pistons as well.

Yes...they are different. The NA brakes have 2 piston sliding calipers, the TT brakes are 4 piston no sliding. The swipe area is different between the two as is rotor diameter. The NA rotor is actually thicker than the TT rotor. I swapped up to TT front brakes on my NA-TT car...night and day difference. I also recommend upgrading to stainless lines...I now feel safe in my car knowing I have the WHOA to match the GO.

I just slammed a set of EBC pads in the rear NA set up and my brakes kick ass. I don't recommend pad slapping the EBC pads...they'll squeal like a stuck pig. Great investment...made me much more confident with my car's abilities.

Calipers, backing plates, and hardware are stock Toyota replacments (I have a hook up :bigthumb: ). The rotors are TRD Japan, and the pads are EBC green stuff. The brake lines are actually Russell units.

Yes...they are. Although from what I've read...there's little improvement between the two...and you can't run 15's on the TT rears. My car stops like I expected a TT car to...really F-n well. Very confindece inspiring these days. From what I've read, there's little to no difference in performance between the two in the rear...It's the fronts that need serious help. (I concur)
