Well we landed a deal of the century for a full 1991 300zx Twin Turbo. 91K miles and in rough shape ( outside). The dealership had it for 1.5 years after a dealer called them to service one of their lot vehicles, that dealership went out of business and the title was lost.

So it sat, over $2800 in new parts on the motor (new wiring harness, full service done with new pumps and tensioners etc).

We bought it for $2000. Thats less than a front clip OR a bare motor with tranny.

So the shell is for sale if anyone wants it LOL.

My brother also aquired a set of TT heads that have been fully ported and polished with 0% leakdown on the valves. Over $3000 invested from the original owner.

Started the teardown today (brother left, me right)

He has a 1992 N/A slicktop (non-t top Z, very rare) coupe. He has already made a custom harness and has adapted the R34 rear electric HICAS system with a custom "off" switch to make it a stiff rear end like stock. Also the electric system weighes a total of 10 lbs with actuator, far less than the hydraulic unit that everybody hates.

It should turn out to be a pretty mean little car. He will obviously put on upgraded turbines (possibly S15 ball bearing turbines ) with his custom single exhaust.

Here is a good picture of his car:

I will update this as we progress on his project.

PS: My head is back at the house for my supra (7m). I will start porting it out this weekend hopefully.

Thanks.

We thought REALLY hard about an RB20/25/26 actually. The motor mounts would of been relatively easy to fabricate and the transmission would bolt right up ( RB25 uses same bell housing and tranny as VG30DE(TT).

Just the pricing of those motors and the parts (though easy to come by) would not be good for daily driving. And the fact that he would have to utilize some type of stand alone system would just negate the fact of making it easily maintainable and reliable.

Either way he should be pumping out 400bhp quite easily. :)
