so far i found a chart for mixing fuel to achieve a certain octane level. ie. 10 gal. of 93 + 10 gal. of 100 = 96.4 octane, and so on. so i wanna know where to find a chart for vpc16 and pump mixing so i can keep my a/f in check and not run too much boost without comprimising my motor. where can i find such a chart? im just guessing that a 5 gal. of c16 with 5 gal. of 93 would net around 115 octane and be able to run 28 psi on stock ecu.

(#of gallons x 116oct)+(#of gallons x 93otc) divided total gallons gives you your octane.

So for example, if you mix 5 gallons of C16 and fill the rest up with 93 would equal:

5x116 = 580

13.5x93 = 1255.5

580 +1255.5 = 1835.5

1835.5/18.5 = 99.22 Octane.

I use 18.5 because thats the capacity of our gas tanks.

I hope that helps. I use the calculator on my phone all the time to calculate octane when mixing on the fly. :)

5 gallons of 116 + 5 gallons of 93 only yields 104.5 Octane.

So I would think twice about running 28psi on that ratio. Try a higher ratio of C16 to pump.

it was a guess,i didnt do it ,thats why i asked. so 104 octane mix would yeild what max psi on stock ecu? i say stock ecu do to i have no way to adjust timing..thanks for the tip in math.

i am still searching for the octane chart i once found that showed many mixes of 93 and c16 from vp fuels. it had every possible mix of c16 and 93 up to 10 gal.

I was once told that when mixing leaded with unleaded fuel that they are no longer linear so this would actually yield a lower octane? Something about diluting the lead with unleaded throws it off. Any truth to this? What do i know though i am just gonna run c16 all the time. :bigthumb:

I spoke with one of the senior techs at VP about this, and he said it was not true.
