I have two cps's and both of them make a clacking noise when I run my engine. I took both out and put both in correctly.. tdc and all. The gear looks fine and there is no contact between the two points. Also I got a new cover and seal.

Anyone have an idea whats clacking in the head?

yea, my engine was making a clacking sound coming from the exhaust cam area. turned out to be that the exhaust cam's sprocket was loose as hell, make sure it is tightened down maybe even take off the timing belt and check, then replace the little studs if needed.

I had a clacking CPS at one time...turned out the shaft on the CPS was bent. Pull it off and see if it spins smoothly. Mine did not.
