Take the cap off and check the shaft-play. If the bearing is really worn, it might leak oil. I was lucky enough to stop the leaking with a new o-ring on my cps..

 

is it leaking from the inside ?? if not, your O ring is bad. replace it, you will see a big difference!!

 

the o ring was just replaced but i havent checked the shaft yet thanks for the tips guys

 

Could also be the front of your valve cover. Oil will drip in most of the same places

 

Even if it is leaking out the cap if there's oil inside it is causing damage and if the O ring didn't fix it you need to rebuild the cps. Theres an epic super detailed thread with pics on how to do this on SM just search cps rebuild and u'll find it.

Mine's dripping out also so I'll be installing a new o ring and if that doesn't work start the cps rebuild.

 

better be safe then sorry. Replace the O ring and the cap and gasket that goes on the cap. This problem is what killed my first 7mgte.....

 

waiting on the parts from toyota slow as always and im gonna use the cps out of my last supra see if it works. if not its getting a rebuild

 

thanks guys i swaped out my cps to the one i had left over from my 89 replaced the gasket and cap and no more leak. thanks for the help guys you kick ass:lol:
