To all you electronics, and a/v geniuses

I an trying to find a circuit/box/kit/whatever to horizantally flip a camera image, so i can setup a rear-view camera and have it properely displayed on an indash monitor.....

If anyone knows anything about this please post or email me, i cannot find anything to do this.

Thanks a million,

Bartel

why cant you just mount a camera in the area where you place the key to pop the hatch. A regular camera should suit your needs just wonderfully

Hmmm....

Actually thanks for the keyhole location, not a bad idea, BUT with respect the the flipped image....

The problem is that since the camera is facing backwards and you are looking forwards, the image will appear mirrored horizantally on a monitor. It will screw up your left and right. I hope i am explaining this right. I know Sony used to make a special rearview camera for RV's and Trucks but i can not find it any longer.... You can buy a monitor with mirroring function, but i want to use my eclipse monitor.

Accelle electronics makes a camera that is built specifically for a rear vision application.

They make it in color and in B/W.

I am quite sure there are other companies that make them but Accelle is the only one I have used. I am not aware of a device that takes a regular image and inverts it.... Accelle would know.

A friend of mine has one of their cameras mounted in the rear hatch keyhole on his MKIV. It is in color and rear-reverse image. He can display the image on his Eclipse 7301 and record with any type of camcorder.

Quite interesting when racing... absolutely no disputing who won and by how much when he is recording with it.

Here is Accelle's number.....562-809-5090

Good luck and lemme know if you hit any snags.
