I am running a small single GT4082 (58mm) and I wanted to know if HKS 264 cams will make a noticeable improvement or whether I would need a larger turbo to see significant gains. I am replacing the JDM spec cams, but I wanted to know whether buying the 264s is a waste and whether I should just stick to USDM cams. I am putting a 2JZGTE in my MKIII. I am running the 2J with a 1J ECU and harness, so the rev limit will now be a 7500.

Thanks everyone...

Chris

You will lose spool unless you have a way to modify timing. But you won't lose much. In comparing spool up with numerous datalogs I lost about ~76 rpms in spool up with a 63 mm turbo and JUN 256/264 cams over oem cams on the same tune/ boost level.

If I was considering cams with a 58 mm turbo I would most likely go with either a 256/256 combo or just put in a 256 exhaust cam over the wimpy JDM cams.
