It is such a pain to get off and on, and now that I have to diagnose oil leaks etc. I am thinking about just leaving it off on my already beat / rusted MK3. Is there any problems with doing this?

Its there to HELP the cooling system out. If you do not have it then its not going to help the cooling system the same way. But it has and can be done. If you dont want it sell it there are many who do want it. I purchased mine new from the dealer because it is there for the cooling system... *shrug*

I've seen your car before while driving thru Newark one day. The wife pointed it out and I almost wrecked the Cobalt trying to look at it. lol

Leave it off until you figure out whatever problems you're working with. Once that's done, put it back on. Both my Supras have all their under plastics intact.

its also there for protection. I once went to Vermont through a back country road, all the little rocks and pebbles caused havoc on my crankshaft pully. I had to shave the groves in to make them straight because the rocks had bent and chipped part of the pulley.
