r154 conversion on a 2jz can you use the 2jz w58 flywheel instead of the 1jz one and why does it not work. thanks

The flywheel is not interchangeable.

The 1JZ uses the same clutch as the 7MGTE, but not the same fly wheel.

The 1JZ uses the R-154 manual trans. Which is the same as the trans. in 7MGTE equipped Supras. It uses a different bell housing.

ok i just didnt understand the difference in mkiv 5 speed w58 fly wheel vs the 1jz one. it must be the way the clutch mounts to the flywheel that makes the difference
