Hey guys,

Just wondering whats going on.

I checked my timing yesterday and discovered that it was at ~20deg
that probably explains why I was getting rubber in 1st and 2nd LOL

but I tried to turn it back with the cps and the lowest I could get was 15deg

Anyone have any ideas on what to check?

Thanks

J

You might have to pull out the cps and turn it back one tooth to get it below 15*. Thats waht I had to do on my 7m, exept my base timing was at like 30* when I first got my car!!!!

did you jump the terminals to put it in timing mode?

Yes I did jump e1 and te1 - but I did not notice any change in the idle or changes at all for that matter - so i was wondering about that?

I put the probe on #6 too which is correct no?

Thanks

How could the timing change that much though. I adjusted it to 12* 3 years ago and havent had anything apart?

In that case, check your timing belt/cam gear alignment

Make sure your timing light knob is at set to 0 if you have a fancy light.
