Anyone out there gotten a C-West TRD Carbon Fiber Hood Knockoff to ACTUALLY
fit?

I got this thing and the gaps in it were 1/4" and not to my liking. What's more,
the hood was manufactured with latches that are too short so it wouldn't catch closed at the hood latches. You can see pictures of a failed attempt to fit this hood at the following addresses (NOTE: the hood is not latched closed in the pictures so the gap looks really bigger than it is.

I'm still looking for work-arounds instead of just
trashing it. Hood pins would work, but I am sorely against using them.

If anyone wants to take it off my hands. I'd be more than willing to sell.
six-and-some-change would do it...

And YES... We all know there is no substitute for OEM quality parts... I've
known this all along, but took a chance based on a gaurentee to be
recompensated.

Thanks,

Matt

C-West is the manufacturer.
as you can see in:

http://www.beachcomm.com/matts/hood0010.jpg

the hood lines meet well at the back by the windsheild, but the front is "short" by 1/4 to 1/2 inches when latched closed.

The only way to make this perfect is to re-slot the holes that connect the hood to the lift larms and "deal-with" an un-even seam at the windshield, instead of at the front near the bumper cover.

b.t.w. my cars fctory hood fits perfectly with no gaps (I have no front-end damage or wrecks)

Needless to say I was truly disappointed with the fact this hood mounting holes need modification to make it fit correctly. I got in a war with VISA since the speedshop that sold it to me backed-out of responsibility when I was gaurenteed a true fit.

two years later, after losing the battle with CitiBank, this is still in my garage in a hood box gathering dust.

want a hood?

LOL...

c-west makes a TRD replica?? b/c c-west makes their own stuff and has a good repuation with making quality parts so make sure your not getting something else.

to me it looks like one of those ebay ones that are like 250 bucks...

i have sold 3 different TRD replica hoods, and they all fit good..

i think you mean c-wings.. as c-west is a well known bodykit manufactorer in japan and they market thier own designs.. not trd replica.. c-wings is company that is closely related to if not the same company as gtp(importfan)
