CARBOTECH PANTHER PLUS Brake Pads

1208 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  StSupDog
Has anyone tried the CARBOTECH PANTHER PLUS brake pads? I need to replace front and rear pads and rotors and am considering these pads with stock rotors. I am looking for a STREET pad that will give me better than stock performance. I don’t care how squeaky or dusty the pads are, just that they are the best STREET pads…

Thanks,

I have the Big Brembo kit (F40)on my car and have been using Carbo Tech brake pads w/ there compound, it has worked out great. Brakes just as good as the pads that brembo sold me for half the price. I don't have their information with me but, I think the guys name is Larry. Tell him the guy in the Silver Supra w/ brembo F40 brakes sent you maybe he'll cut you alittle break on the price. He might not remeber me though he does sell brakes all day long.
StSupDog,

Thanks for the reply!

How are the Carbo Tech pads with little to no heat in them...say from relatively low triple digit speed (impromptu highway roll on situation)?

On the first stop or two of the day, they do require heating up for optimal performance. But if your only looking for a street pad, why go with the P+s? They do dust quite a bit. I'm sure the guys at carbotech can steer you in a good direction.
Joshua,

I have hit those bakes at 140, 150, 160, even, 190 and have had no problem. Then again I'm running the Brembo Kit not stock calipers or rotors. As for the first one or two stops, haven't notice any problem there ethier. To top it off the pads emmit less brake dust than the pads Brembo sold me. Grant is right ask Larry(I think that's his name) at CARBOTECH and he will be able to point you in the right direction, there are all kinds of compounds that he can sell you.
