so i used my test light on the dome lights there not getting power at all. i tested the fuse socket in the driver kick panel and it's getting power. i started the car without the 7.5 fuse and now i don'y have dash lights at night... so i turned the dimmer switch and it dosen't stop it just keeps rolling....... i dunno what to do

well is the assembly just the plastic cover? or the entire fixture

Getting the plastic cover off is the hard part NOT one of Toyota's better designs.

The assembly comes out with 4 screws from memory, then you'll see a bunch of wires with brass terminals and aluminium rivets (another stroke of genius on Toyota parts as it promotes corrosion from dissimular metals)

Squash the rivets and you get interior lights back (my car had the fault for 8 years before I decided to actually fix it)

ok new developments. made new ground wires and drilled through to the chassis. but still no lights. i have power coming from the fuse and the fuse panel... what else could it be?

Did you squash the rivets down?

no i drilled through it and made a new o clamp and put a self tap through it

They're not all grounds.

yes i made a ground wire with the test light and jumped from the fuse to the light and there very dim

Is there power coming into the plug? have u replaced the dimmer switch? This might help u to chase the wires

i tried jumping the power from the dimmer relay to the bulb and they lit up =]] but now on the passenger side it sparked and i lost power did a fuse blow? i replaced the dome 7.5 still no power
