i very recently got a 95 black/black n/a 5spd....actually so recent, i havent actually picked up the car....well anyway...in about 2 weeks i go back to pick up my car and i want some stuff ready to do to it...unfortunately, my sister got an accord for her first car...and obviously a supra is more than an accord, i now am 4 grand in debt to my dad....well it was 5 but i already had some money for my car set aside. i talked to him about it and he said that i could do a few mods to my car, basically anything but the most i could spend is 100. i just wanted to know what you thinked were some good cheap mods, for visual or performance, most likely visual. a few i was thinking about were:

-cracking open the headlights and color matching (is this possible, i just know people did them to 97-98's and figured i could do the same to mine) them instead of leaving them chrome - about 15 bucks for supplies
-painting that black lip to match the black of the car and not that black rubber look - dunno how much just wondering what u guessed; maybe all 100 of it?
-i already am gonna buy some car care products and i wondered what you recommended for soap, wax, leather treatment, etc.

just wanted to know what you guys thought i should do...any recommendations are helpful

Don't wash the car yourself. It's very abbrasive to your paint and will hurt it over time. Wax - Zaino is the best but I have great luck with Meguiars Gold Class. Leather - all are the same, just depends on what you like.

Buy $100 worth of car repair and project books. If welding, fiberglass, turbos, electrical, etc are all second nature to you then you won't need them, but chances are you will use the information down the road, especially the turbo info:D

Most people start with performance. Intake, then exhaust, etc.

Or you can go with show. With 100 bucks paint lights, polish engine bay, get colored hoses, etc.

Dude, ignore the car washing stuff above (what was that about?). With a black car, wax once a month and wash the car like you have washed cars in the past.

IMO, go for go first; not show;)

You just got a SUPRA, you are extremely lucky. In my opinion, You probably should pay everything you get back to your dad before you start modifications. The longer you have the car without doing anything to it, the more you will learn about it. Take your time with modifications, don't rush into it and mess things up. I wouldn't paint the headlights, you can clean them up really nice. There is an article on MKIV.com in the tech articles section about how to clean them. That is the first thing I think you should do. This is what mine look like before and after.

Anyways, good luck with the car, be very careful, and take good care of it. It's a great car.

there are plenty of intakes for under $100 that you can get for performance first, anything else is just little mods, but I agree with Xenon, get used to it first, enjoy it and payoff your dad. Then you can put however much money you can into it...and painting the front lip would cost more than 100 bux and since you have a black car I would'nt rush that or do it at all...just my .02
