I think the problem with my car lies in the cam sensors or the crank sensor but seeing as these sensors are $72 a peice is there a way to check my sensors to see if they are bad?we checked the wires from the sensors to the ecu and they were good and had continuity but how do i check the sensors themselves? thanks

check resistance, it's supposed to be like 1.2k ohms to 1.6k ohms. double check by searching in the mk4 area

btw, i had a similar problem, and it turned out to be the polarity was wrong on the cam2 sensor plug. you have to amke sure all pin1's are signal, and pin 2's are grounds.

Ok well i checked the resistance and it was as follows:

Cam sensor 1--- 1.146ohms
Cam sensor 2--- 1.131ohms

Crank sensor---- 1.156ohms

are these numbers too low do any of them seem to be bad and i would think since my car has been running fine for a year that i would not have the polarity wrong now......
