I have a 2000 navigator for my DD. It has a chip in the key for part of the theft system. That chip/key/reader is acting up. Is there a way to bypass that chip in key system all together? It's more trouble then it's worth.

not really. i had the PATS (thats the name of the ford system) fuck up on me... cost me 150 bux cause my key failed. i had to have a special locksmith come to my work and cut me 2 new keys.

so a new key with new chip in the key may fix the problem? I'll give that a try.
