What do you all use to clean your air filters? Can I use the same stuff I clean my hot tub filters with? It is some type of cleaner degreaser that I soak them in. My filter is starting to look dirty and I know they can be cleaned but I have never heard just how to do this.

i just spray from the inside out with the garden hose, allow to dry and spray k&n oil on them. ehh...instruction call for soaking filter in cleaner(detergent soap) for 10 min and spray inside out with garden hose, air dry and oil.

The K&N kit is worth it. And of course make sure to use tie-downs or something to hold the panel in place once you put it back.

Just don't do anything that'd swell up the fibers(like harsh detergents,or hot water)or it'll be toast.The kit has the right stuff.
