just finished wiring up my AVCR. the unit works, and even let me turn up the boost but only up to 1.22. i can adjust it to anything higher, but it will still only max out at 1.22, no matter wha tthe duty cycle is at. and whenever i get into boost, there is this clicking noise coming from by the ECU, now i know it wasn't there before. but its just when i get into boost. is it a wire arching? there is no check engine light. i can't see any exposed wires either. please help.

AFAIK, AVC-R actuator stepping motor makes clicking noise, at least it used to in the previous version of their boost controler. Where did you mount your stepping motor/actuator?? It will only click when under boost. Remedy is to mount it as far up in the engine bay as possible, by the radiator or something.

Not sure about the operation, but those damn AVC-Rs are too hard to program correctly, my car boosted differently on back-to-back runs under same conditions.....this was even more evident on a dyno, i NEVER got boost I wanted out of it, when I wanted it.
I installed the AVC-R on my car and after a few days it started doing the same thing. Sounds like a Woodpecker under my hood.

Mount the stepping motor under some rubber washers not directly on the chassis.. This will reduce the vibration and should stop the Noise.

Also, I found this link where this guy was having the same problem. Check it out. Look 1/2 way down the page where it says Update May/4 http://www.turbomr2.com/MR2/HowTo/APEXI AVCR/Installing APEXi AVCR-02.htm

good Luck.
