On my 95 NA, my 5spd is making some weird noises. When you press the clutch it feels gritty, and it sound like you were having sex on a metal frame bed. Has anyone else had this problem? My car hooks fine, and its not slipping, but I am so tired of the noise, its pretty loud and people notice it when you pull up at a light, That's not cool. When the car is idling( out of gear) it sounds like birds chirping. When you touch the clutch, it stops
What do yall think the problem might be?
let me know
Thanks,
Shane

I have the exact same problem.. bird chirping sound that goes away when you step on the clutch. so embarassing! :mad: I have the stock clutch with 70k miles on it. I've been told that it's the throw-out bearing for the clutch. It's time for it to go...

I was told the same thing and had my mechanic to check it and he said it was fine. Go figure. I think I'll order one and make him put it in anyway.:D
