The check engine light and triangle of death popped up the other day on my 95TT and stayed on for a short while then went back off and hasn't reoccurred. I flashed the ECU this afternoon and it blinked a code 71 which is EGR System. Can anyone give me guidance on what to check or how to troubleshoot this? I'm not having any particular running problems except perhaps a mild hesitation when cold.

I'm having the same problem. I was thinking about just blocking it off and hoping that solves it.

That happened to mine a couple weeks ago. Bought the blockoff plates and it fixed the problem.

Can you give me some details please. I've owned my Supra for 18 months with no codes. Why all of a sudden to I need blockoff plates? What are they? Where are they? Cost? Source? Thanks in advance.

you need to change the egr vacuum modulator, looks like a plastic ufo on the intake manifold by the egr.

So, is this the ONLY possibility of what can be wrong with a code 71 or ONE? Can the egr vacuum modulator be tested to prove it is bad?
