Hi all,

I need a little help... I bought some new hyper coil springs to lower the spring rate of my BC BR's as I do not like the ride.

I went from a 14k / 10k to 10.7k / 7.1k the only problem is I bought a 7" spring and what was in there was actually an 8" spring.

I'm worried about coil bind and I'm trying to figure out if I have enough length in the spring.

See below... My measurements turned out to be ok, and the rears would have just made it but the front would have been sketchy since the higher spring rate binds a little earlier than the 400LBS spring rate. Taking critical centimeters away form travel before binding.

Never mind, I found out. You can call Hypercoil and they will tell you the binding distance. I was able to get away with 7" springs in the back if I did not add any preload... Just barely....

Fronts, however, would be questionable since there would be a few centimeters that it could bind unless you use a bump stop large enough. Opted to return the springs and get 8" ones.
