What are optimal compression #'s for the 2jz?
I have owned several supra's and they always been btw 145-160 .
I know that variance across cylinders is more of an issue than have all 140's but I was just wondering what some of you other Supra owners are seeing.
Some people claim that they have #'s in the 170's.
Thanks
Josh

Being an 8.5:1 motor I'd expect to see 145~165, much higher and I'd suspect the gauge or carbon buildup, much lower and I'd worry about ring/valve seal unless the tests were done at high altitude.

Brand new motor should be ~156 per Toyota.

Thanks for the info.
156 sounds about right.
Should compression increase as an engine is broken in or should it decrease slightly?
