I'm not sure if this is a Supra thing or if it happens with all cars.

My coolant light came on (lost my bird) and so i check the coolant when the car's cold and then it's about halfway so i top it up, the thing is that i topped it up just over a week ago.

My question is, is coolant like oil where you just need to top it up or am i leaking or some other answer.

And the fluid is bright green and i don't think it's a BHG at all because the engine has such low k's

There's defintely a leak somewhere. Could be an old line, radiator, heater core, or of course a BHG :<. Try to look under the car and see where its leaking from. Also check your oil for traces of coolant, and pray you dont find any. Another way I use to check for a coolant leak is looking for signs of rust, ie if on side of your radiator, fan shroud etc. is rust colored, thats probably where its leaking from. Most people will most likely tell you BHG, but that's not necessarily the case.

not a real wiz, but if its a BHG shouldnt white smoke come out of the exhaust, thats how i knew i had one, the frequent coolent addings and overheating told me this too.

It can be as simple as replacing the radiator cap to as complicated as a BHG. Start of with the cap. If not it can be the sensor or if not a leak. Some leaks happen only during high pressure (in boost) so it can get complicated. When you turn off your car, sit there and wait a couple of minutes to see if anything leaks.
