But i tried to color sand my hood. i thought all it was was taking some 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper, and sanding it then waxing it out. my hood looks like crap now, did i miss a step?

I could be wrong, but 600 seems awfully abrasive.

Holy crap. You will likely need a repaint. Your best bet is to take it to a body shop and explain to them what you wanted and then what you did. You will need to wetsand it with 1000, then 1500, then 2000, and maybe even 2500. Then you will need the correct compounds and polisher to remove the scratches, again, only if you have somehow managed to avoid destroying the paint somehow.

Just take it to a body shop and pay them to fix it, you will only make it worse by the sounds of it.

Guys it's a joke. Who in the world would sand their hood down using 600 grit?
