My supraTT recently had a battery die on me after I came out of a movie theater and since then, I've noticed that when I'm sitting at a light or just parked with the motor running, when the car is just idling, the dash light/head light will dim and when I rev the car, the lights will get brighter. Also, when the car just idles, it will make a tap, tap, tap noise which will disappear as soon as the rev picks up. The battery has been replaced to a brand new one and only a month later, the new battery is also dead.

What is the cause of this problem? What will I need to change? The alternator? Belt? How much will it cost? What will the part alone cost? Is it a DIYS job? How much labor will the shop charge?
