Has anyone coverd the dash pieces in material? Or do most people just paint them or put a cf kit on em?

I'm asking because I have no clue how many yards i'll need.. just the pieces that get scratched REALLY easy.. well exactly what everyone paints and puts those kits on...

what kinda material we talkin about here? also be careful if u paint it ive had many friends have to sand it off lots of times before they got it to look half decent...and IMO i would just go with a nice carbon fiber dash...they have blue carbon fiber, red crbon fiber, something like that would go nice with your car...

its a good 300 somethin bux, but it makes your dash stand out, and I don't regret buyin mine!

if u want pics of mine lemme kno..

adios

1) Huh??? What do you plan on rigging up that would look half-way decent, and NOT like a pimp-mobile?? (Remember....its a Supra, not an '89 Tercel!)

2) That's because there's too many DIY cowboys out there that don't have a clue, nor take the time to do it even 50% correct. Paint work/knowledge is soooo underestimated

I should make a sticky about this....had a few people ask already and in PM's :p

Ahhh....drove too fast on a road with gravel at the end.....couldnt even slow down (in mid 50's+ mph), no curb or gaurdrail at all, completely flew forward in the air, then landed on right side (notice the missing right wheel/suspension that came through the fender), Got knocked out cold against A-pillar post even with a belt on, then bounced into a roll (don't know how many times - sound asleep), landed in water upside down, sank to bottom of 15ft deep canal (probably deeper), woke up and swam through windshield while floating against the dash/hood (all glass was history at this point of course), just barely made it to top with any air what so ever, went to Hospital for 35 stitches (30 just from escaping :( ) while the car was being hitched by a diver and pulled out the canal on it's roof ($800 for diver and tow), then flipped right side up with all the mud inside that was scooped from the bank of the canal by the windshieldLESS roof......poor poor f*ckin car (33k mile hardtop 6spd, bone freakin stock cherry).

Yeah yeah yeah, I know......just shoot me

when i got my dash done, i used paint thinner to get off that nasty dull look and took it to a family friend who owns his own paint shop and had him paint it. he did a great job. the hardest part is getting all that dull looking stuff of the dash peices. i can post pics if you want. i painted mine a glossy black, but i wish i would have done i silver so you can't see the scratches so easily. let me know about the pics.

Still see scratches? Hmm, sounds like your buddy should have used a finer grit paper (4-600 wet) and then seal (if not prime) it before spraying the color and clear :D

Got a tip for you.....have him sand what you have now with 600 wet and then simply reclear them all -----? bye bye scratches ;)

By the way, interior is "supposed" to be dull....shiny is for the exterior :D But yeah, we all have assholes....Umm, I mean opinions :p

What's more amazing is that my passenger got out without a single scratch, and he was awake through it all so I know he was stressed out....I dont believe he was wearing his belt. Good thing he had the pass. airbag and the A-pillar strap to hang onto....found that thing on the bank of the canal the next few days along with a floormat, heh.

Yeah.....and there's a sick side of me that wishes to hell it was all caught on video!!!!

I could sell a copy to the producer of F&F2 so they can dub it into F&F part 3 for some decent actions scenes, LMAO

no i don't mean scracthes in the paint right after i got it back, i mean my watch tends to scratch it and other objects tend to. like when i wipe off dust and depry i can see the very fine scratch marks. but oh well. i'll take some pics tonite and i'll post em. i know it's supposed to be dull but it just wasn't appealing to me at all.
