I was wondering if there is a difference between the automatic transmission from a turbo and non turbo supra. Would it be different if it were from different years? I have an automatic transmission from a 87 n/a and i wanted to put it in my automatic 90 turbo. I was reading on another website (wikipedia) and i saw that the A340 E was in both the turbo and non turbo supras so i was wondering if they would be the same. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

the Turbo model has more clutchs in the stack and several other mods that make it more durable...

I believe the speedo gear is different since n/a's use a 4:30 rear end and turbos a 3:91 and 3:73.

the trannys hold up fine my grandfather has a 88 turbo pushing 8 psi and he has a na tranny. pulls hard. you can use the speedo gear out of your other tranny no problem it just has one ten mm holding it in the tranny.
