I'm looking for a spare shortblock to build, besides the oil squirters for the pistons and the tapped port for turbo oil feed, is there any difference between the blocks? Can you drill/tap the GE Block for an oil feed or do you have to get it elsewhere?

Also, Is there any difference in the cranks? Journal size, keyway, etc are all the same?

looking at my recon engine book the cranks appear to have the same part number but the blocks do not but the again they only have the shortblock listed. so probably just the different compression pistons and what not wish i could help more just never really saw a na and a tt block sitting side by side. im sure some one on here has to know this im kinda interested to know myself

Block is the same, just some things on the GTE are honed while they are not on the GE

Rods, Crank, Bearings, Valvetrain (excluding cams) - The same in both.
