Well this is nearly the last task on the list to convert to manual. What are the differences between the Auto and Manual brake pedal assembly? Is the bracket that holds the pedal the same and just the pedal is different? Will a manual one fit the Auto bracket or would I need the whole thing? Just trying to work out if its easier and cost effective to buy a pedal over modding the Auto one which is currently planned.

Everything is the same except the actual pedal arm. I just swapped the manual brake pedal in my Supra for my auto-->6spd swap. It's a bit a PITA to reach everything, but it's straight forward for the removal/install.

Could you just take the pedal out or did you have to take the whole assembly out? So does the upper pivot shaft on the pedal come out?

You have to remove the pedal assembly at the upper pivot shaft. I believe there's a bolt and a nut, along w/ 2 washers and a metal sleeve that the bolt goes through.
